Dynamique et enzymologie de la digestion chez l'huitre Crassostrea gigas ArchiMer
Boucaud, C; Lebesnerais, C; Lubet, P; Lihrmann, I.
Feeding experiments carried out on Crassostrea gigas allowed the authors to set up the stages and the timing of the movement of food throughout the digestive tract. Various activities involved in digestion (glycosidases, esterases, and peptidases) were investigated histochemically in the digestive tract in order to localize the sites of absorption and the sites of protein and carbohydrate digestion. An explicative model of the different stages of digestion is proposed.

Reproduction of Pecten maximus from different fisheries areas: Rade de Brest, Baie de Saint-Brieuc, Baie de Seine ArchiMer
Lubet, P; Devauchelle, Nicole; Muzellec, M; Paulet, Y; Faveris, R; Dao, Jean-claude.
Bay of Seine, bay of St. Brieuc and the rade of Brest are the three main fisheries in France. Measurements made on spawners issued from these areas allow to consider two separate reproductive strategies, in these populations. Scallops from St Brieuc spawn during a short period, a sexual rest stage being observed in autumn and winter and recovery occurring in spring. Populations from Brest and from bay of Seine show similar reproductive cycle with a permanent annual sexual activity spawning being scattered from early spring to autumn. This reproductive strategy could explain that recruitment in these fisheries are better than in St Brieuc bay. The variations of the muscle and gonad index are opposite. The muscle acting as storage organ releasing metabolites...
